Processing an APT File (
)
Austin N.C.'s APT (Automatically Programmed Tools) is a software tool designed to simplify the process of preparing the input data necessary for controlling NC and CNC machine tools and devices.
To process an APT file, perform the following steps:
click
the APT System button (or its associated button (
) in the toolbar)
from the resulting file chooser dialog, select the desired APT file and click Open (the selected file will now be displayed in the Source File text field)
click the Process button
once the processing is complete, click the OK button on the message box
Note: You may also initiate this process from the menu bar (Processing / APT Process) or the APT Process button in the toolbar.
As of version 5.9, in the Source File textfield on the main CimPro screen, it is possible to type the filename without the extension (e.g., "instst" instead of "instst.apt"). If there is a file in the specified directory without an extension, that file will be used. If there are several "instst" files in the directory, then the "current" extension (e.g., "apt") will be attached behind the scenes. This will also work for whatever GPost file you are using (e.g., acl, cl, ncl, etc. file extensions).
