Program Number Source

The program number can be retrieved two ways:

• by reading the PARTNO statement and getting the first n characters

• by prompting the programmer to enter the desired program number while postprocessing

Program Number Type

The program number can be of two types (only if the program source - see above - is specified as option 2 above):

• Numeric only (characters 0-9)

• Alpha-numeric (characters a-z, A-Z, and 1-9)

Output String (prefix, prog#, postfix)

Prefix (10 chars max)

Enter the program number prefix. This string will be prepended to the beginning of the program number prior to it being output to the machine control data file.

Example:

Prefix String = O

Program Number = 1000

Postfix String =

Output:

O1000

or

Prefix String = (PGM,

Program Number = 1000

Postfix String = )

Output:

(PGM,1000)

Postfix (10 chars max)

Enter the program number postfix. This string will be appended to the end of the program number prior to it being output to the machine control data file.

Example:

Prefix String = O

Program Number = 1000

Postfix String =

Output:

O1000

or

Prefix String = (PGM,

Program Number = 1000

Postfix String = )

Output:

(PGM,1000)

Program Number

n =

This is the number of characters to retrieve from the PARTNO statement to become the program number.

Skip Leading Blanks and Slash

Use this option to skip the leading blanks and the leading slash (/) character in the PARTNO / abcd command. Some CAM      systems may automatically generate the slash / character.

Minimum value

This is the minimum value for the numeric only program number.

Default value

This is the default value for the numeric only program number.

Maximum value

This is the maximum value for the numeric only program number.

Default string

Enter the default program number. This string will be the default program number when prompted. If the programmer hits <cr>, when prompted at process time, this will be the default program number used along with the prefix and postfix strings.

Example:

Prefix String = O

Default Program Number = 1000

Postfix String =

Output:

O1000

or

Prefix String = (PGM,

Default Program Number = 1000

Postfix String = )

Output:

(PGM,1000)

Prompt string

Enter the string the postprocessor will prompt the programmer with to type in the program number.
