General

Direct RPM is available

Check this box if you want to output the SPINDL speed number specified in the part program. Do not check this box if you want to output a spindle speed code.

Checking this box will allow you to specify direct RPM values on the Direct RPM Speeds tab. Leaving this box unchecked will cause the option file generator to display a tab called Ranges. On this tab, there will be a list of ranges matching the number in the 'Number of spindle ranges' field on the main tab. On this additional tab, the user will be given the opportunity to specify the number of spindle codes for a range as well as the speed/code relationship.

RPM Code

With both direct RPM and Constant Surface Speed programming modes available, the postprocessor must be able to output the proper preparatory codes to initiate each. This field specifies the value associated with the preparatory code that establishes the direct RPM spindle speed programming mode.

CSFM is available

Check this box if CSFM (Constant Surface Feed Mode) mode is available on your machine. If CSFM is not available on your control, the postprocessor can simulate it by segmenting the motion. If you have specified that your control uses direct RPM, this feature will cause the postprocessor to create a spindle lookup table based on the minimum and maximum spindle values you supply. This will cause speeds to be adjusted to the nearest table value when in RPM mode.

SFM Code

Enter the preparatory code for establishing the Constant Surface Speed (SFM or SMM) mode. Note that the address and format of the radius register as well as the spindle speed restraint register are established on the MCD File panel. The miscellaneous codes associated with range changes and spindle rotation direction are established on the Aux/M-Codes panel.

Post will segment circ. moves

When CSFM is not available, the postprocessor is capable of segmenting the circular moves and change speeds to maintain a constant cutting feed. You can activate this feature by checking this box. If you do not want the postprocessor to segment circular moves, do not check this box.

Nbr. of spindle ranges

Enter the number of spindle ranges required for the machine.

Default ranges

The postprocessor defaults the spindle speed range to the value you enter here. This default establishes the range to select only if there is no RANGE,n couplet on the SPINDL command. The RANGE used by the SPINDL command is modal; you need not enter it unless you need to change it. Also see the postprocessor command SPINDL

SFM R-output when not in SPINDL/cmd

Under G96 and CSFM mode, the R-register is output as the the starting radius. You can specify this in the SPINDL command using the RADIUS,r couplet. However, if this is not specified in the SPINDL command, the GPost can output current-X, next-X or none as shown above.

Output S-Code

Some machines require the S-code for spindle to be output with the XYZ codes of the motion block. By setting the option below, the post will combine the S-code data with XYZ if possible.

Combine G97 Code with S-Code

Some machines require, the G97 RPM mode function to be output with the S-code block. Default is to output the G97 code by itself in one block and then followed by the S-code to set the required RPM. You can change this setting to combine the G97 / S-code into one block.

MAXRPM Code

Enter the preparatory/G-code for establishing the Maximum RPM in Constant Surface Speed (SFM or SMM) mode. This G-code is set to 92 or 50
