Turret Index


TURRET/CENTER is in effect at start of program

Motion records in the CL file are adjusted by the specified gauge lengths and are output as tool tip coordinates. The postprocessor command TURRET/CENTER cancels gauge length compensation to output turret reference coordinates until another turret command is processed. This option selects the default condition prior to the initial TURRET statement in the CL file.

T - Code Output

Output preset blocks for EACH turret change

The preset blocks can be output by the postprocessor automatically for each turret change to adjust for the specified gauge lengths. Check this box if you wish for this to be the case.

Output preset blocks BEFORE turret change

The automatic preset blocks can be output BEFORE or AFTER the T-code block which indexes the turret. The order is significant on some machine tools. The sequence may determine whether the offsets are applied immediately or with the next motion block. Check this box if you wish for the preset blocks to be output BEFORE the tool change block. Equivalent postprocessor commands:

Formula for Calculating the T - Code

The output of the T-code is usually the face position followed by the offset register. The T-code is normally calculated by the following formula:

T = Face position * M + offset number

Codes

Clockwise Code

If required and/or available, the postprocessor will output the codes indicating turret index direction. Indicate the codes for CLW in this field. If this machine will automatically take the "shortest path" to the next turret position called for, it may be appropriate to respond with NA (not applicable) to this prompt.

Counterclockwise Code

If required and/or available, the postprocessor will output the codes indicating turret index direction. Indicate the codes for CCLW in this field. If this machine will automatically take the "shortest path" to the next turret position called for, it may be appropriate to respond with NA (not applicable) to this prompt.

Default Code

If required and/or available, the postprocessor will output the codes indicating turret index direction. Indicate the codes for the default turret direction in this field as indicated in the two fields above. If this machine will automatically take the "shortest path" to the next turret position called for, it may be appropriate to respond with NA (not applicable) to this prompt.

Misc Output

Output cycle times with tool change

The postprocessor will keep track of the individual cycle times of each tool, and will optionally output the current cycle time with each tool change. These times may not be accurate representations of actual machine times due to axis acceleration and deceleration and pauses the machine tool may make that the postprocessor cannot be aware of. Check this box if you wish for the postprocessor to output the calculated tool usage time at each tool change.

Ouput tool number as offset when not given in the TURRET/cmd

When the offset number is not given in the TURRET/cmd the default offset number is zero. You can set the GPost to output the tool number as offset. For example, TURRET/1 will output T11 instead of T10.
