General

Cycle Time

Tool Change Time

Enter the average time required to change tools. This time will be added to the total cycle time each time a tool change occurs.

Output cycle times with tool change

The postprocessor will keep track of the individual cycle times of each tool and can output the current cycle time with each tool change. These times may not be accurate representations of actual machine times due to axis acceleration and deceleration and pauses the machine tool may make that the postprocessor is not aware of.

Codes

Auxiliary Code

Most machines require an auxiliary code, usually 06, to indicate a tool change is required. Enter the numeric value of the code to be output with each LOADTL statement.

Tool Length Prep Code

Some controllers require that a preparatory code be output along with the tool length compensation register. If your controller has this requirement, enter the preparatory code in this field. The code will be output on the next block containing a Z-axis move after the tool length offset has been changed. Note: entering a value here will cause the multiple G-code switch to be turned on.

Output Options

T-Code is Modal

Check this box if the tool change T-Code should be treated as modal. This will remove redundant T-Codes from the M06 Output block.

Force ABC rotary axes on next GOTO/motion block

This option will force the output of ABC-rotary axes with the next GOTO/cmd after a tool change (LOADTL/cmd) under MULTAX mode.

Output T code and M code on separate lines

Some controllers require that the T code and the M code be output on separate lines. Check this box to output the T code first and then the M code next (on a separate line).

Output tool # as length offset # when not specified

Selecting this switch will force the tool length offset number to be the same as the tool number when the length offset number is not specified in the LOADTL statement.

Output next tool preselect with tool change

This selection will automatically preselect the next tool following the current tool change.

Tool Change Positioning

Choose the proper radio button that describes the tool change positioning block for your controller:
