Option File Generator HelpMill Panels - Overview
The Mill panels allow the user to create or edit an option file for a Mill. In general, the panels used for a mill are also used for a Wire EDM, Laser, or Punch type machine. The Wire EDM does not use all of the mill panels and does have a few additional panels that are specific to to Wire EDM machine. Currently, the Laser and Punch machines types duplicate the Mill panels in all cases except for one additional Laser specific panel.
There are seven different mill, laser, and punch formats that can be selected when creating or editing a mill option file (there is only one Wire EDM format - see the Wire Panels section for details). The seven mill types are as follows:
Mills without Rotary Axes
4 - Axis Rotary Table
4 - Axis Rotary Head
5 - Axis Dual Rotary Table
5 - Axis Rotary Table / Rotary Head
5 - Axis Dual Rotary Head or Nutator
1 - Rotary / 1 - Radial Axis (Live Tooling)
