Rapid
This parameter is the numeric value associated with preparatory codes which invoke the "positioning" mode(G00). If you choose to do so, you may influence the way the machine operates with this parameter. For example, by setting this parameter to "01" and specifying a particular F code for RAPID on the Feedrate Panel, RAPID motion would be output as G01__F300 motion blocks.
Some controllers require the positioning preparatory codes be repeated with the axis values, even when the last move was made under rapid traverse. Others retain the current preparatory code as modal. Modal codes are output only when their value changes, not on every block. Note that this option does not make the RAPID command modal in a part program.
Equivalent postprocessor commands:
PLABEL/OPTION,92,TO,0 $$ Rapid G-code is modal (default).

Many machine manufacturers and maintenance departments advise against programming very short rapid traverse moves. The value you enter here will be the lower dimensional limit allowed for rapid motion. Any motion programmed at rapid below this limit will be reduced to the feedrate you provide in the next prompt.

On some controllers, the address of the register containing the feedrate code is not the same as that of the normal feedrate register (EG F20.0 for feed mode vs. E8 for rapid mode). This parameter is used to indicate the address of the rapid feedrate register. Note that G00 could invoke rapid without need for this parameter being set to "G".

In some cases, a special feed code (such as F8, F9, or F0) is required to indicate rapid traverse. If this machine requires a code like this, enter the numeric value of the code here. To set the format(s) of this special feed code for rapid positioning, position the cursor on the Rapid Address field above, click the left (primary) mouse button and select 'Set Format' in the widget pop up window.
Enter the feedrate velocity to which you want all short rapid traverse programmed moves reduced. Enter the velocity in units per minute; the postprocessor converts this to units per revolution if that is the current feed mode for the programmed motion. Also see the postprocessor command FEDRAT/__,RAPTO.
Some machines cannot make rapid traverse moves while in the UPR feedrate mode. The entry you make here causes the postprocessor to shift into the mode you specify before making any rapid moves. After the rapid move is completed, the postprocessor shifts back into the feedrate mode in effect prior to the traverse move. If this machine does not require a prep code for this move, enter NR (not required). Equivalent postprocessor commands:

This option allows the user to control whether the postprocessor will output redundant feedrate code (F-code) following a rapid move. Some controls require that the feed code be reestablished following rapid motion. Equivalent postprocessor command:
