Rotary Table/Radial Axis

General

Rotates About

Axis about which the Rotary axis rotates. Specify which linear axis (X, Y, or Z) the Rotary axis rotates around.

Radial Axis

Axis about which the SECONDARY axis rotates. The SECONDARY rotary axis, in the case of a dual rotary head machine, will be the axis with the smaller angular movement. Specify which linear axis (X, Y or Z) the SECONDARY rotary axis rotates around.

EIA standard

Checking this box indicates that the EIA standard for tool motion is adhered to. The EIA standard looks at all motion as if the tool is moving and the work piece is stationary. Check this box if the following is true:

CLW along normal

Check this box if the following is true: looking in the positive direction along the normal, the rotary axis rotates in a clockwise direction when the sign of the motion is positive.

Tool Axis/0,0,1 = 0

Checking this box indicates that a (0,0,1) tool axis vector positions the rotary axis to zero. Do not check this box if a (0,0,1) tool axis vector will position your rotary axis to 90. Note: This option applies only if your rotary axis rotates around the X axis.

Tool Axis/0,0,1 = 0 (check box)

generate/tlax_909.gif

Tool Axis/0,0,1 = 90 (do not check box)

Default dir. CLW

Check this box if the default rotary motion direction is clockwise. The answer to this question determines the direction of motion for the rotary table to take. This remains in effect until a ROTABL statement in the part (or input) program changes it.

Faces positive dir.

Checking this box indicates that the part mounting surface faces the + or positive direction of the axis that the table rotates about. If it faces the negative direction, do not check this box.

Contouring

Negative 360

Checking this box will cause the postprocessor to output negative 360 rather than negative 0. Some controllers require a value of -360 in the rotary registers rather than -0. Leave this box unchecked if -0 is required.

Calculate Feedrate

Select the feedrate calculation type:

This FEDRAT formula is the MAZAK feed rate formula for calculating the feed rate for linear/radial moves.

Min. Feedrate

Enter the minimum feedrate at which the machine can operate the rotary table while contouring or positioning under feedrate control.

Max. Feedrate

Enter the maximum feedrate at which the machine can operate the rotary table while contouring or positioning under feedrate control.

Velocity

Enter the Velocity Percentage for the feed rate formula, 1.0 is the default.

Rotary Axis Type

Angle is between...

These check boxes allow the user to select which best represents the format used with the machine's rotary axis:

Indexing

Rapid Rate

Enter the rate of rotation of the rotary when in rapid mode. This value is used to calculate cycle times when indexing at rapid rate.
