Transformations
The postprocessor can apply a transformation to the incoming CL points and/or tool axis vectors. There are several types of input transformations available:
Simple X, Y and Z translation - This selection simply adds the desired values to the incoming X, Y and Z coordinates then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
Point and tool axis transformation - This selection applies the desired translation and rotation matrix to the incoming CL point and tool axis vector coordinates then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
Point transformation only - This selection applies the desired translation and rotation matrix to the incoming CL point coordinates, but does not affect the tool axis vector coordinates, then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
Tool axis transformation only - This selection applies the desired translation and rotation matrix to the incoming CL tool axis vector coordinates, but does not affect the point coordinates, then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
Translation
X-Axis - Input translation value for APT X axis. Simply adds the desired values to the incoming X coordinate then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
Y-Axis - Input translation value for APT Y axis. Simply adds the desired values to the incoming Y coordinate then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
Z-Axis - Input translation value for APT Z axis. Simply adds the desired values to the incoming Z coordinate then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
NOTE (for Simple X, Y, and Z Translation only): Prior to version 5.9 of the Option File Generator, the above axis values were stored in double precision "Commons" (i.e. Dblcom) locations numbered 286, 287, and 288 in the option file. As of version 5.9, it is recommmended that these values be stored in Dblcoms 289, 290, and 291. IF, when you open your option file in the Option File Generator and the values for 286, 287, and 288 are 0.00000 (default), then any changes made to the X, Y, and Z axis values above will be stored in the new Dblcoms (289, 290, 291). IF one or more of the values in the old Dblcom locations is not 0.00000, then the old Dblcom values (286-288) will be used instead of the new ones. If you desire to change to the new Dblcoms, simply, set the X, Y, and Z axis values to 0.00000 and save the option file. Then, make th necessary changes to the X, Y, Z values. When saved, they will be saved in the new Dblcom locations.
There are are 3 additional translation types. These are:
Transformation Type = Point and Tool-Axis Transformation
Transformation Type = Point only Transformation
Transformation Type = Tool-Axis only Transformation
The following provides information concerning these 3 transformation types.
The incoming CL point and/or tool axis vector transformation matrix may be defined as follows:
XY Rotation -- This selection will apply the defined rotation matrix in the XY plane, then translate the rotated points and/or tool axis vectors, then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
YZ Rotation -- This selection will apply the defined rotation matrix in the YZ plane, then translate the rotated points and/or tool axis vectors, then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
ZX Rotation -- This selection will apply the defined rotation matrix in the ZX plane, then translate the rotated points and/or tool axis vectors, then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
General transformation -- This selection applies the desired 12 parameter transformation matrix to the incoming CL point and/or tool axis vector coordinates, then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
X-Axis - Input translation value for APT X axis. Simply adds the desired values to the incoming X coordinate then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
Y-Axis - Input translation value for APT Y axis. Simply adds the desired values to the incoming Y coordinate then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
Z-Axis - Input translation value for APT Z axis. Simply adds the desired values to the incoming Z coordinate then the postprocessor acts on the newly calculated CL point.
Enter the desired point and/or tool axis vector rotation in the selected plane, XY, YZ or ZX.
The 12 parameter matrix values are as follows:
The elements in the first column (Ax, Ay, Az) are the components of a vector related to the base system which represents the positive X axis of the auxiliary system. Similarly, the elements in the second column (Bx, By, Bz) are the components of a vector related to the base system which represents the positive Y axis of the auxiliary system and elements in the third column (Cx, Cy, Cz) are the components of a vector related to the base system which represents the positive Z axis of the auxiliary system. The elements in the fourth column (Dx, Dy, Dz) define the origin of the auxiliary system relative to the base system.
Point transformation: Input point = XYZ
Tool axis vector transformation: Input tool axis vector = IJK
X-Axis - The postprocessor can apply a translation to the output X coordinate. Enter the desired output X translation in this box.
Y-Axis - The postprocessor can apply a translation to the output Y coordinate. Enter the desired output Y translation in this box.
Z-Axis - The postprocessor can apply a translation to the output Z coordinate. Enter the desired output Z translation in this box.
A-Axis - The postprocessor can apply a translation to the output A coordinate. Enter the desired output A translation in this box.
B-Axis - The postprocessor can apply a translation to the output B coordinate. Enter the desired output B translation in this box.
C-Axis - The postprocessor can apply a translation to the output C coordinate. Enter the desired output C translation in this box.
Enter the distance along the tool axis to adjust the output XYZ. The new output XZY will be translated along the tool axis vector. A positive value will translate from the tool tip up the tool axis.
X-Axis - The postprocessor can apply a scale factor to the output X coordinate. Enter the desired output X scale factor in this box.
Y-Axis - The postprocessor can apply a scale factor to the output Y coordinate. Enter the desired output Y scale factor in this box.
Z-Axis - The postprocessor can apply a scale factor to the output Z coordinate. Enter the desired output Z scale factor in this box.
A-Axis - The postprocessor can apply a scale factor to the output A coordinate. Enter the desired output A scale factor in this box.
B-Axis - The postprocessor can apply a scale factor to the output B coordinate. Enter the desired output B scale factor in this box.
C-Axis - The postprocessor can apply a scale factor to the output C coordinate. Enter the desired output C scale factor in this box.
