Opening an existing option file
To open an existing option file, select File/Open as follows:

Or, select the Open button on the toolbar:

Either method will open the two panels shown on the left side of the main screen. These two panels will be automatically opened when the Option File Generator is initially started. The top panel is a tree structure containing the option files associated with the current directory (in this case, D:\Camapt) and the specified library (as specified in the config.tbl file). The bottom panel is a view of the system's file structure and allows the user to change directories. To open an option file:
Locate the desired directory by navigating the bottom panel's file structure. To change directories, double click on the desired folder or the top level folder to move up one level
Open the desired option file type (e.g., lathe, mill, laser, etc.) by opening the desired folder in the upper panel and double clicking on the desired option file. The option file can also be opened by selecting the option file and either hitting the Enter key or clicking on the Open OptFile button
Once the option file has been opened, these two side panels will close (e.g., collapse to the left)
To reopen these panels, either click on the Open button or Open menu item as described above, or click on the arrow button that is located adjacent to these panels.
Note: multiple option files can be opened at once by selecting the desired option files and then right clicking on the mouse to bring up a popup menu. Once the popup menu has been displayed, click on the Open selected option files menu item. Only seven option files can be opened at one time.

The above picture of the main Option File Generator screen shows these upper and lower panels. Unlike version 5.5 where you could only view option files of one machine type at a time (e.g., mill), you can now view all the option files (e.g., lathe, mill, wire EDM, laser, and punch) located in a specified directory. The size of the above panels can be controlled as follows:
clicking on the arrow button to the right center of the two sub-panels
clicking on one of the two vertical lines and dragging with the mouse to decrease or increase the size
clicking on line/section separating the two sub-panels and dragging up or down
Note: the file structure and option file tree panes can be arranged three different ways - 1) default (as shown), 2) side-by-side, and 3) reverse (directory structure is on top and option file tree on the bottom). To change the layout, simply select the Utilities menu, then select Change Layout. From there, check the desired layout.
