Programmable Buttons

CimPro contains eight programmable buttons and one "pseudo-programmable" button. The eight programmable buttons are located in the Programmable Buttons section of the CimPro window. The pseudo-programmable button is the Plot button which is located on the left or right side of the CimPro window in the button bar. These buttons are programmable in that it is possible to specify the following:

• button label

• button function

• button tooltip

whether it accepts the six parameters that CimPro passes to them

The specifics of these buttons are defined in the "config.tbl" and are also specified in the System Settings dialog. If a button is not defined (e.g., does not have a specific function assigned to it), it will be disabled on the CimPro window. To enable a programmable button or edit a current button, simply:

1. click the System Settings button in the toolbar which will open the System Settings dialog

2. on the "Main System Settings" tab, locate the desired button and click the associated Edit button which will launch the Programmable Button Setting dialog (see below)

3. on this dialog, edit the "Button Label", "Button Function", "Button Tooltip" and specify whether the button will accept the 6 CimPro "Parameters"

4. to 'remove' a button (not delete it, but disable it), simply click the Remove Button Function button at the bottom of the dialog

5. when complete, click the OK button

This process will update the config.tbl file with the appropriate system settings and the button will become immediately usable on the CimPro screen.
